New Encounters - Emballage Ensemble

New Encounters Workshop 2025

This two-day intensive workshop is designed to equip you with new tools for physical performing and collaborative creation.

Rooted in Emballage’s playful, exploratory approach to embodied creativity, these workshops are particularly useful for anyone who makes or is interested in making their own work.

Participants are welcome to join us for one or both days of the weekend.

Day 1: Performing Paintings - Jacques Lecoq x Tadeusz Kantor

Emballage co-directors Emma and Dominic will explore techniques from the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq and the practice of Tadeusz Kantor in an approach to paintings as inspiration for movement and image-making.

Day 2: Performing Architecture - Jacques Lecoq x Bauhaus Theatre

We will put Jacques Lecoq’s approach to architecture in dialogue with Oskar Schlemmer’s Bauhaus Theatre to investigate the dynamics of architectural space through movement, mark-making, and the creation of portable structures.

Date and time:

Sat 29th & Sun 30th Nov. 10am-4pm (with an hour for lunch)

Tickets: £30 for one day. £50 for both days.
Please book here https://www.emballage.art/public-workshops

If cost is a barrier to taking part, you may be eligible for a bursary place. Please get in touch with us at emballageensemble@gmail.com to enquire. These places are limited and will be allocated on first-come, first-served basis.

Supported by Norfolk County Council.
