New Encounters - Emballage Ensemble
New Encounters Workshop 2025
This two-day intensive workshop is designed to equip you with new tools for physical performing and collaborative creation.
Rooted in Emballage’s playful, exploratory approach to embodied creativity, these workshops are particularly useful for anyone who makes or is interested in making their own work.
Participants are welcome to join us for one or both days of the weekend.
Day 1: Performing Paintings - Jacques Lecoq x Tadeusz Kantor
Emballage co-directors Emma and Dominic will explore techniques from the pedagogy of Jacques Lecoq and the practice of Tadeusz Kantor in an approach to paintings as inspiration for movement and image-making.
Day 2: Performing Architecture - Jacques Lecoq x Bauhaus Theatre
We will put Jacques Lecoq’s approach to architecture in dialogue with Oskar Schlemmer’s Bauhaus Theatre to investigate the dynamics of architectural space through movement, mark-making, and the creation of portable structures.

Sat 29th & Sun 30th Nov. 10am-4pm (with an hour for lunch)
Tickets: £30 for one day. £50 for both days.

Celebrate the dark side of folk, with Folk That Dance. This outdoor event will include music by the Feathered Thorns, storytelling by Su Squire, and folk that dance! sharing work inspired by Norfolk’s folklore and the turning of the year. Wrap up warm and step into the magic of the dark.
